Abstract
Based on data from the Social Security Agency for Employment (BPJS Ketenagakerjaan), it is stated that from 2019 to 2021, workplace accidents continued to increase. According to H.W. Heinrich's Domino Theory in 1931, workplace accidents occur due to 88% unsafe behavior (unsafe acts), 10% unsafe conditions, and 2% unavoidable events (acts of God). PT X is a company engaged in the manufacturing industry. According to accident report data documented by the Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) department of PT X, there were 26 workplace accidents recorded in 2022. The accidents occurred due to unsafe actions taken by workers during the production process. Research objective: To determine the relationship between unsafe actions and workplace accidents among workers at PT X Diesel Engine Manufacturing. Research method: A cross-sectional design with a total sample of 65 workers using Chi-Square analysis test with α=0.05. Results: The study found a significant relationship between unsafe actions and accidents, with a p-value of 0.001. Conclusion: There is a relationship between unsafe actions and workplace accidents among workers at PT X Diesel Engine Manufacturing.
